It’s a story of cancer-attacked people who live in ‘Cancer Patient Support Group’.

Hazel & Augustus are the main characters of this novel. Hence, A writer, Van Houten, also characterized as an important figure.Hazel, with her mother, went to a cancer patient support group, where she met, Augustus, a cancer-attacked boy.Hazel was without his right leg which was replaced with prosthetic.Hazel & Augustus turned into friendship, and they talked to each other about their interesting novel they read, Augustus assigned ‘The price of dawn’ & Hazel, ‘An Imperial amplification’,  a story of cancer-attacked girl Anna.After finishing that Augustus astonished that the novel had no end, so to say incomplete.Augustus managed an appointment with Van Houten, writer of that novel to learn the end of that & the fate of mother of Anna. Hazel & Augustus set out for Amsterdam to writer Van Houten. On the way, they conveyed their love to each other. After reaching there, they were in fall flat as the writer behaved ill, as he was drunken, to leave his place.

Augustus died soon as his illness grew drastically, sorrowful van Houten apologized for his misbehave to Augustus’s funeral.

At the end of the story, Hazel discovers that Augustus was writing a sequel on ‘An imperial affliction’. Hazel read his words,’
‘You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you.I like my choices.I hope she likes hers.’

Hazel soliloquized as a consent of Augustus writing that, ‘I do, Augustus, I do.’

The novel encompasses the sorrowful life of cancer-attacked people, their communication, expression to each other, love, affection, & through sequel writing, Augustus made him immortal or a good company to her beloved Hazel.
